Job summary

Akina Inc. seeks a Software Engineer 1 to develop, maintain and enhance complex software systems in a high-demand environment in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The role involves full stack development using Java, Angular and Elasticsearch, with emphasis on performance, testing, and documentation.

The candidate will work individually or in teams, participate in design trade-offs, and contribute to system-level requirements analysis. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
• Four (4) years of SWE experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience with Java and Angular frameworks is desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or environments.
• Develop data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and standards.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet performance standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Lead teams at an appropriate level for the project.
