Job summary

Gecko Robotics is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team in New York for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, onsite internship, Monday through Friday.

You will work on a defined project across the stack, building frontend workflows, backend services, and data pipelines that turn sensor, robot, and document data into actionable health insights for critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Onsite in New York, Monday through Friday, for the full Summer 2027 internship.
• Foundational programming experience in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript and OO/functional concepts.
• Experience building a web application end to end (frontend and backend).
• Working familiarity with Git and REST APIs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and collaborating.

Responsibilities

• Own a scoped full-stack project from design through deployment under guidance from senior engineers.
• Build user-facing features in React and TypeScript to support real operational workflows.
• Develop backend APIs and services in Python for data ingestion, transformation, and serving.
• Design data models and schemas, parsing and validating data from multiple sources.
• Use version control, testing, and debugging to deliver maintainable code.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and deployment engineers, with summer travel to a customer site possible.
• Present project results and next steps at internship end.
