Job summary

Viam in New York City is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to our robotics platform. You’ll work across the stack on new problems and be paired with a mentor on a dedicated team.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Robotics, with in-person availability in NYC for 10–12 weeks. Familiarity with Go or TS and CS fundamentals is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field.
• Solid CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, software architecture.
• Experience with multiple programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop across the stack on robotics and cloud computing problems.
• Collaborate with a mentor and full-time engineers on a dedicated team.
• Explore state-of-the-art technologies and test software with robotics hardware.
• Contribute to software that engineers would want to use.
