Job summary

Visionist, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to develop specialized tools for analysts and operators on the CAP Discovery Analytics Team. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

You will work on data visualization, automation, and scalable solutions using a diverse tech stack, including Python, REST APIs, and modern frontend frameworks. A Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree.
• 3 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Familiarity with data science principles and techniques for analyzing complex datasets and deriving meaningful insights
• Experience with Python back-end development, including custom libraries and REST API functions
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for collaborative software development
• Proficiency in front-end technologies, including React, Vue, or Next.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technical and mission requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions
• Interest in expanding technical knowledge and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized full-stack software tools and tradecraft to support analysts and operators on the JCPG/CAP Discovery Analytics Team
• Collaborate with the team lead to understand mission requirements and address the needs of analysts and operators
• Design and implement solutions for data visualization, task automation, and workflow improvements
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to optimize existing tradecraft and tooling
• Drive development projects and proposals independently, taking ownership throughout the software development lifecycle
• Design, architect, and implement robust, scalable software solutions aligned with project requirements
• Continuously improve and optimize existing code to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability
