Job summary

NISC is seeking a talented software engineer to join our Meter Data Management team in Lake Saint Louis, MO. You will contribute to full-stack applications and data engineering solutions, working across Product, Data, UX, and Engineering to deliver scalable software.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in software development, are proficient in JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, and Java/Scala, and are comfortable with AWS services and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in a full-stack, cloud-based environment.
• Proficient in JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript; strong OOP skills in Java or Scala.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, EMR, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch).
• Familiar with relational and NoSQL databases and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
• Nice-to-have: Python scripting; strong problem solving and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications and scalable data solutions.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues across application and data platforms.
• Apply SDLC practices to ensure quality, security, and performance of production code.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical direction.
• Create data tools to improve accessibility, reliability, and usability.
• Identify opportunities for automation, scalability, and system optimization.
• Provide updates, communicate risks, and manage dependencies.
