Job summary

NISC is seeking a talented software developer to join the Meter Data Management team. This role focuses on full-stack development and data engineering to enhance data storage, analytics, and customer service for utility staff.

You will work across product, data, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions. Ideal candidates thrive in a collaborative environment, have 1+ years in software development, and are eager to learn and innovate using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a CS-related field.
• 1+ years' experience in software development.
• Experience in a full-stack, cloud-based environment.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, Angular, Typescript or similar web technologies.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala for backend development.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, EMR, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and tools like JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket/Bamboo.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications and data engineering solutions.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across application and data platforms.
• Apply SDLC best practices to ensure quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Participate in architectural and technical design discussions and set technical direction.
• Create and maintain data tools to improve accessibility and reliability.
• Identify opportunities for automation, scalability, and optimization.
• Provide progress updates and communicate risks and dependencies.
