Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to own full stack development and mature a government prototype into a Program of Record at our North Charleston, SC site. You will lead backend services, frontend applications, and supporting infrastructure to deliver a production-ready system.

Must have strong Go and Python skills, experience with secure coding and RMF/ATO processes, and the ability to collaborate with cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years of related work experience or 4 years in lieu of a degree.
Proficient in Go and Python.
Active hands-on use of AI development tools as part of daily engineering work.
Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
Experience maturing prototype code into production-ready systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as full-stack engineer for a government software system, backend and frontend, plus supporting infra.
Design, develop and maintain APIs/services with Go and Python, roadmap the production transition.
Refactor and harden prototype code to meet DoD security, scalability, and maintainability standards.
Collaborate with cybersecurity/ISSO to support RMF/ATO and security artifacts.
Enforce secure SDLC practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secret management.
Advocate for AI-assisted development to improve quality and delivery.
