Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia is seeking a software professional to develop and maintain applications, implement SharePoint workflows, and build BI dashboards. The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, hands-on work with jQuery, SharePoint services, and SQL, plus collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of software development experience.
• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Experience using jQuery, Client Object Model, and SOA.
• Experience with SharePoint application services including Search, Managed Metadata, User Profile Services.
• Ability to write Stored Procedures and complex SQL queries; analyze SQL data.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures and regulations are followed.
• Write detailed descriptions of user needs, functions, and steps to develop or modify programs.
• Develop and maintain user and server-side applications.
• Implement SharePoint-based workflows and develop BI dashboards.
• Lead communications technology and collaborate with Communications team on websites and integrations.
• Gather and correlate data from systems to determine risk and troubleshoot issues.
• Configure test environments and develop SQL queries/stored procedures for testing and releases.
• Prepare BRD, UCD, Use Case Diagram, USD and Test Cases.
• Participate in product design reviews and contribute ideas; may provide consultation on complex projects.
• Perform other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
• Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs
• Development and maintenance of user and server-side applications
• Implementation of SharePoint-based workflows, as well as development of Business Intelligence dashboards
• Be the lead on communications technology, and work in a collaborative manner with the Communications team in support of website development, SharePoint development, Appspace support and any other communications software integrations and platforms
• Gather and correlate data from various systems to determine level of risk and exposure, as well as troubleshooting issues
• Configure test environment, assure test data, developing of SQL queries/stored procedures for database and back-end testing with further go–in-life Releases
• Prepare the Business Requirement Document (BRD), Use Case Document (UCD), Use Case Diagram, User Scenario Document (USD) and Test Cases
• Actively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment. A wide degree of creativity and latitude required
• May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in area of specialty and at least 3 years of experience in software development or in a related area
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Experience using jQuery, Client Object Model, and Service Oriented Architecture
• Experience with SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services
• Ability to write Stored Procedures, write complex SQL queries, and ability to analyze the SQL data is desired

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.
