Job summary

Care Around the Block is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design and build scalable web and mobile solutions for caregivers and seniors. You will own end-to-end development across backend services, web apps, and mobile features, collaborating with product users and stakeholders to translate real-world challenges into robust software.

You’ll work with Java, Spring, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, AWS, React and React Native, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and deploying to AWS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS and microservice architectures.
• Experience designing APIs or distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Frontend experience with React and React Native is required.

Responsibilities

• Design full-stack applications powering internal platform across backend, web, and mobile.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using Java, Spring, Hibernate and PostgreSQL.
• Build responsive React web apps and contribute to React Native features.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to translate challenges into software.
• Implement features from concept to deployment with clean, maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance and reliability.
• Deploy and support apps within AWS and influence architecture decisions.

What You'll Do as a Full Stack Software Engineer

Our Ideal Full Stack Software Engineer

• Experienced: Bring 3+ years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, AWS, and service-oriented or microservice architectures.
• Technical: Have experience designing APIs or distributed systems, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and building modern frontend applications with React while contributing to React Native mobile applications.
• Educated: Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or bring equivalent professional experience. An AWS certification is a plus.
