Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the IVS Control Plane team. You will build customer-facing experiences and scalable, reliable systems powering IVS.

You will work on the IVS Console and backend APIs, shaping end-to-end experiences from public API to backend orchestration for live video services. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and applied scientists to deliver low-latency, secure, and highly available services at

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience building web applications with React and modern web technologies.
• Experience with both frontend and backend development.
• Experience building backend services using Go or similar modern programming languages.
• Experience building/designing UIs with multilingual support in mind.
• Experience with frontend security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop intuitive user interfaces for the IVS Console using modern web technologies.
• Design and develop scalable backend services and public APIs for Amazon IVS.
• Build distributed systems that manage the configuration, orchestration, and lifecycle of live video streaming resources using TypeScript, Go or similar modern programming languages.
• Define and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure as code practices, primarily with AWS CDK.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and applied scientists to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Ensure systems are highly available, scalable, and secure at AWS scale.
• Apply engineering best practices across testing, performance optimization, observability, and code quality.
• Collaborate with other AWS teams to integrate shared services and deliver consistent customer experiences across AWS services.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, design reviews, and on-call rotations.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, metrics, alarms, and runbooks.
