Simon & Schuster US is modernizing core order management, fulfillment, and financial transactions using .NET and SQL, with AI-assisted development. The Full-Stack .NET Developer will replace legacy COBOL batch programs with modern production-grade services and extend to web front ends.

You will work with AI tooling, review generated code for correctness, performance, and maintainability. Requires 5+ years of .NET experience, SQL Server skills, and a production mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack .NET development with production services.
• Experience using AI tools to assist development and critical validation of output.
• Strong SQL Server / T-SQL skills and performance mindset.
• Back-end services, batch processing, and structured logging experience.
• Front-end web UI work with ASP.NET Core or JS frameworks (React/Angular).
• Production mindset: observability, safe deployment, error handling.
• Clear written communication and operational documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build modern .NET worker services, APIs, and T-SQL procedures replacing legacy COBOL.
• Review and refine AI-generated code with engineering judgment for quality.
• Apply target architecture patterns: logging, run telemetry, restartability.
• Instrument replacements for reconciliation against legacy output and validation gates.
• Develop front-end components for browser-based workflows.
