Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a highly technical Java developer in New York City to maintain and evolve backend and web-based applications within a trading-focused platform.

You will work across the stack with Spring Boot, REST APIs, React, and relational databases, delivering robust solutions in an Agile team environment and collaborating with frontend engineers and product owners.

Qualifications

• Strong Java fundamentals and modern JVM concepts (Java 21 preferred).
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring 4+) and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with frontend UI.
• Good knowledge of React (v17) and backend integration.
• Strong understanding of web app architecture and client-server communication.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Commitment to clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.

Team is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Java developer. Our group is focused on bringing a new level of efficiency, transparency and openness to the trading process by building a collaborative community of investors, brokers, technology firms and content providers.

Through our modular, end-to-end trade management platform, users can: execute everything from simple single stock trades to complex strategies across markets and time zones and manage their risk throughout the trade lifecycle; access our growing network of execution brokers to route Equities, Futures or Options orders globally, as well as dozens of integrated prime and clearing brokers through our growing suite of middle office tools; and collaborate with our broker and vendor partners, who are able to efficiently plug into our platform to reach our community.

This role involves maintenance and enhancement of existing backend and web-based applications, and contributing to the evolution of our trading platform and web user interfaces.

Compensation for NYC: 110000 - 140000 USD Gross Per Year based on your interview results.

• Strong understanding of web application architecture and client-server communication.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Strong focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.

• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.

• Experience with trading platforms is preferred; however, candidates with broader financial services systems experience will also be considered.
