A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, and maintain full stack Java-based web applications supporting classified DoD environments
- Lead integration of front-end frameworks with secure DoD infrastructure and backend systems
- Oversee backend and database development, ensuring availability, integrity, and cybersecurity compliance
- Implement and enforce secure coding practices using Fortify, SonarQube, and DoD secure software development standards
- Conduct advanced debugging, testing (including Selenium), and performance tuning while mentoring junior developers
- Document software architecture, workflows, and compliance checkpoints to support audit readiness
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and program management teams to deliver mission-critical software solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 15 years Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Active Interim Top Secret clearance required
- Full stack Java development and secure architecture
- DevSecOps practices in defense or classified environments
- Leading Agile software teams through complex delivery cycles Proficient with:
- Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Selenium for automated testing
- CI/CD tools: GitLab CI/CD, GitLab Runners, Nexus Repository
- Application deployment on WebLogic
- Security tools: Fortify, SonarQube
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical investigations, troubleshoot at all levels of the stack, and drive architecture decisions
- Strong written documentation and collaboration skills across secure, multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and Helm Chart configuration
- Proven leadership in CI/CD pipeline development and DevSecOps best practices
- Mastery in secure code analysis, remediation, and review processes
- Experience deploying and maintaining Java apps in WebLogic environments
- Background working in Agile/Scrum environments with mentorship responsibilities
- Familiarity with AI/ML-based architectures or integration into modern web applications
- TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred
