Job summary

RTX BBN Technologies in Cambridge, MA is seeking software developers and AI enthusiasts to develop and transition AI middleware for the warfighter. You will contribute to prototype AI technologies and transition them to operational use in a hybrid work setting.

The role emphasizes designing software with open-source tools, collaborating with world-class colleagues, and delivering practical solutions to complex problems while navigating DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Java and cloud integration technologies such as Spring Boot, Docker, and Helm.
• Experience with and technical understanding of technologies used to build Agentic AI-based solutions, such as MCP and RAG.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small team on cutting-edge research and development projects.
• Design and develop software using the latest open-source technologies.
• Receive and incorporate feedback from end users, field tests, and exercises.
