Job summary

Oura is seeking a Software Engineer (SWE) to build robust web systems using React, Next.js, and Node.js, powering our commerce platform. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize web applications that enhance customer experiences and business outcomes.

The role emphasizes scalable, high-performance interfaces with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, API integrations, and a focus on delivering value in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in web development.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks like React or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Node.js for building scalable server-side applications.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and ES6+ features.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and API integration.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web apps (lazy loading, caching, image optimization).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using React and Next.js.
• Build and optimize server-side functionality with Node.js.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces.
• Work with product managers and other teams to define technical requirements and deliver features.
• Optimize performance, including page load times and SEO best practices.
• Integrate third-party APIs for payments, inventory management, and other commerce functionalities.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack to ensure high availability.
• Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and trends.
• Document technical designs and implementation details to support knowledge sharing.
