Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in web development.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks like React or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Node.js for building scalable server-side applications.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and ES6+ features.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and API integration.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web apps (lazy loading, caching, image optimization).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer (SWE) with experience in building robust and scalable web systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, Next.js, and Node.js, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where their work has a direct impact on customer experiences and business outcomes. As part of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize web applications that power our Commerce systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using React and Next.js to create seamless, high-performance user interfaces.
• Build and optimize server-side functionality using Node.js to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient handling of e-commerce transactions.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces that enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Work closely with product managers and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver features aligned with business goals.
• Optimize application performance, including page load times, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services for payment processing, inventory management, and other commerce functionalities.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack, ensuring high availability and reliability for production systems.
• Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and trends to drive innovation within the team.
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing.

Must-Have Skills

• 3+ years of professional experience in web development or software engineering.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript web frameworks like Angular, React or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Node.js for building scalable server-side applications.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with ES6+ features.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with API integration.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications (e.g., lazy loading, caching, and image optimization).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.

Desirable Skills

• Extensive experience in React and Next.js, with a deep understanding of their ecosystems.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms or building custom e-commerce systems.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and server-side rendering (SSR).
• Familiarity with GraphQL and modern API design patterns.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive web design principles.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates\' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

• Region 3 $127,500-150,000
