Job summary

Oura seeks a Software Engineer to join our team and help build robust, scalable web systems for our Commerce platforms. You will work with React, Next.js, and Node.js to deliver high-performance user interfaces and secure server-side functionality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize performance, and integrate APIs for payments, inventory, and more. This role supports innovative e-commerce solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in web development or software engineering.
• Experience with front-end javascript web frameworks like Angular, React or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Node.js for building scalable server-side applications.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with ES6+ features.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with API integration.
• Knowledge of performance optimisation techniques for web applications (e.g., lazy loading, caching, and image optimisation).
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using React and Next.js to create seamless, high-performance user interfaces.
• Build and optimise server-side functionality using Node.js to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient handling of e-commerce transactions.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces that enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Work closely with product managers and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver features aligned with business goals.
• Optimise application performance, including page load times, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services for payment processing, inventory management, and other commerce functionalities.
• Debug and resolve issues across the stack, ensuring high availability and reliability for production systems.
• Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and trends to drive innovation within the team.
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing.
