Title: Full Stack Engineer

Location: CO-Englewood

Hybrid 4 onsite / 1 work from home in Englewood, CO

Our client seeks a Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and enhance scalable video delivery platforms and applications for streaming and media experiences. The role spans backend services, modern web applications, distributed systems, and cloud-native development that supports video workflows, playback, metadata services, and content delivery. The position emphasizes event-driven architectures, caching, observability, performance, and the effective use of AI-assisted development tools.

Rate: $50.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting video streaming, content management, and media workflows.
• Build scalable backend services using Java and modern microservices architectures.
• Develop responsive frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Design and implement event-driven systems leveraging Kafka for real-time processing and integration.
• Utilize Redis for caching, session management, and high-performance services.
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications within AWS environments.
• Contribute to video platform capabilities including ingestion, encoding, transcoding, metadata, playback, monitoring, and delivery.
• Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, quality, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Drive best practices for security, automation, CI/CD, and engineering excellence.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience developing backend services in Java and microservices.
• Frontend experience with React, Angular, or similar frameworks using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• RESTful APIs and microservices design and consumption.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Production experience using Redis.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working within Agile environments.
• Preferred: Video, streaming, OTT, media, broadcast, or content delivery experience.
• Preferred: Understanding of video streaming technologies.
• Preferred: Large-scale consumer-facing platform support.
• Preferred: CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Preferred: Observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or Grafana.
• AI and modern engineering: use of AI coding assistants, acceleration of coding, testing, docs, and debugging with AI, evaluation of AI-generated code, integration of AI services and APIs, and application of sound engineering judgment.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
