Overview
Our client seeks a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and deliver enterprise-scale, customer-facing services for modernized life events and beneficiary processing platforms. The role emphasizes backend services, API modernization, and cloud-native development while contributing across the stack. You will work on scalable solutions, translate business requirements into technical designs, and ensure end-to-end quality through testing and automation. You will collaborate within a Scrum team focused on microservices, modernization, and efficient deployments.
Hybrid onsite every other week in Salt Lake City, UT or Westlake, TX.
Rate: $41.00 to $51.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions for customer-facing services.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs across the full stack with a focus on backend services.
- Modernize APIs and services, including development and consumption of REST APIs.
- Develop cloud-native applications and apply AWS best practices.
- Contribute to microservices and serverless architectures and support containerized workloads.
- Implement testing and automation to ensure end-to-end quality.
- Collaborate within a Scrum team to drive platform modernization and efficiency.
- Support client onboarding, event processing, and downstream integrations.
- Own deployments end to end and participate in continuous improvement.
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on Java development.
- 2+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs using Spring Boot or Node.js.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based development best practices.
- Familiarity with microservices and serverless architectures.
- Experience with EKS-based applications (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, Python, and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of cloud databases such as DynamoDB and RDS (preferred).
- Experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Angular for front-end development.
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code and deployment tooling such as Open Tofu.
- Strong collaboration skills with clear and effective communication.
- Proactive problem solving with ownership and initiative.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- AWS certification (preferred).
