Job summary

OpenAI is seeking senior full stack engineers to craft polished consumer experiences from the ground up. You will work across frontend, backend, AI-powered workflows, and rich interfaces to deliver multimodal product experiences that blend language, visuals, personalization, and commerce.

Collaborate with designers, researchers, and model teams to prototype, launch, and iterate on experiences used by millions.

Qualifications

Significant experience building consumer-facing products end to end.
Ability to move across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and product architecture.
Strong craft, user experience, and product quality focus.
Comfort with ambiguity and taking ideas from zero to one.
Ability to think like both an engineer and a product builder.
Strong systems thinking with attention to detail.
Excellent collaboration across engineering, design, product, and research teams.

Responsibilities

Design and build end-to-end product experiences across web services and front-end apps.
Collaborate with product, design, and research to prototype and launch AI-native experiences.
Create intuitive, performant interfaces for complex AI capabilities.
Develop scalable backend systems powering personalized, real-time experiences.
Work with multimodal capabilities including text, images, and interactive UI components.
Iterate quickly using user feedback and product metrics.
Help define engineering standards, architecture, and direction for a fast-growing area.
