Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Conversion team in the United States. You will build features across desktop and mobile using React, TypeScript, Node.js and Go APIs on AWS, guiding ideas through to production with collaborators across design, data, product and engineering.

You’ll contribute to subscription growth, participate in reviews, and help operate features in production while upholding independence, learning and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time software engineering experience building user-facing features in large-scale web apps using TypeScript and React.
• Experience with version control tools (Git).
• Familiarity with server-side web development (Node.js or Go) or willingness to learn.
• Experience collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers to ship features.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the mission of reaching 15+ million subscriptions by 2027.
• Build the conversion funnel across NYT platforms and services.
• Improve payment workflows for digital and print subscriptions.
• Work with design, data, marketing and other teams to impact the business measurable.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews and A/B test brainstorms.
• Support on-call rotation for built systems.
