Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Full Stack Engineer II to join our remote-first engineering team. In this mid-level role, you will design, build, and maintain features powering our veterinary staffing marketplace, collaborating with product, design, data, and engineering peers to deliver scalable solutions.

You will own end-to-end features, mentor junior engineers, and drive architectural improvements while embracing a builder mindset and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional Software Engineer experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Mobile development experience (React Native or similar).
• Experience with Node, Express, React, AWS, and relational databases.
• Proficient at writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience in a growing team or startup preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering to deliver robust solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain features across the stack with scalable architecture.
• Write clean, well-documented code for React Native mobile app and backend services.
• Participate in technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead by example with high-quality code.
• Own tests lifecycle with unit tests (Jest) and end-to-end (Cypress).
• Investigate production issues and improve observability for reliability.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and skilled Full Stack Engineer (Software Engineer II) to join our growing engineering team. In this mid-level role, you'll play a critical part in designing, building, and maintaining features that power the company’s veterinary marketplace. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, design, data, and engineering peers to bring scalable, high-impact solutions to life.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who’s already gained a solid foundation in full-stack development and is ready to take on more responsibility - whether it’s owning features end-to-end, mentoring junior engineers, or driving architectural improvements.

We're in the builder era. Prompt-to-feature workflows are real, AI coding tools are the new norm, and the teams that win will be the ones who set up the right infrastructure to move fast with them. We're looking for an engineer who proactively embodies this builder mindset.

This is a remote-first role, with occasional travel to San Francisco for cross-functional events or team offsites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers to deliver robust and thoughtful technical solutions that solve real business problems.
• Design, develop, and maintain features across our stack, with a focus on scalable architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, contributing to both our React Native mobile app and backend services.
• Participate in technical design discussions and make meaningful contributions to architectural decisions.
• Lead by example through high-quality code, peer code reviews, and mentoring early-career engineers.
• Own the testing lifecycle for your features - writing unit tests with Jest and end-to-end tests with Cypress.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, improve observability, and contribute to platform reliability.
• Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployments, CI/CD workflows, and system performance.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, and proactively introduce improvements to tools, processes, or technologies.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, with strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Mobile development experience (e.g., React Native or another mobile framework)
• Experience with Node, Express, React, AWS, and relational databases
• Proficient at writing complex and efficient SQL queries
• Experience working with a growing team and early stage startup strongly preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Tier 1 Pay Range (examples: San Francisco, NYC)$150,000-$195,000 USD

Tier 2 Pay Range (examples: LA, Boston, Seattle, DC, San Diego, Chicago)$135,000-$180,000 USD

Tier 3 Pay Range (examples: Austin, Dallas, Portland, Denver, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Sacramento)$130,000-$170,000 USD

Tier 4 Pay Range (examples: Minneapolis, Miami, Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City)$120,000-$160,000 USD

Tier 5 Pay Range (examples: Madison, Birmingham, San Antonio, Spokane, Toronto)$115,000-$150,000 USD
