Synmatch AI is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Engineer to help independent F&B founders grow through AI-powered solutions. You will lead development of a multi-tenant SaaS platform, balancing coding with architecture and mentoring.

You'll work on core backend (Django) and frontend (React + TypeScript), build APIs for users, orders, and shipping, and shape CI/CD with the team. This on-site role offers equity options and meaningful impact in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• Experience building SaaS at scale in production environments.
• Strong PostgreSQL and ORM skills are a must.
• Proven leadership with mentoring and architectural decision-making.
• Ability to design elegant and robust system architectures while remaining hands-on.
• Proficiency with testing using Pytest and React Testing Library; CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Code, build, and ship backend (Django) and frontend (React + TypeScript).

This is a hands-on leadership role where 70-80% of your time is spent coding, building, and shipping while the remaining time focuses on architecture, mentoring, and aligning technical plans with business goals.

What you will do as a Full-Stack Engineer...

Code, Build, and Ship (70-80% of your time)

• Develop and refine core backend (Django) and frontend (React + TypeScript)
• Create and improve APIs for users, orders, shipping, and partner tools
• Build smart integrations with tools like Shopify and Mendrix
• Scale and optimize cloud hosting on GCP (and AWS in the future)
• Ensure the stack is clean, scalable, and future-proof

Product Engineering (20-30% of your time)

• Architect and scale multi-tenant SaaS solutions for the next growth phase
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to align technical plans with business goals
• Set the bar for code quality, testing (TDD/BDD), and CI/CD workflows
• Mentor developers and create a culture of engineering excellence
• Identify opportunities to innovate and improve

What we are looking for…

• SaaS at Scale: Built and scaled SaaS applications that are battle-tested in production
• Database Expertise: Strong PostgreSQL and ORM skills as second nature
• Leadership: Led teams balancing writing code with mentoring and architectural decision-making
• System Architecture: Can design systems that are both elegant and robust while staying hands-on in the codebase
• Testing Discipline: Testing is how you build proficient with Pytest, React Testing Library, TDD/BDD practices
• Development Workflows: Fluent in Git workflows and CI/CD tools (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines)
• API Mastery: Deep experience building and integrating RESTful APIs, JWT Auth, and third-party tools like Shopify and Mendrix
• Frontend Excellence: Modern frameworks (React, MUI) with focus on fast, responsive, delightful interfaces

Desirable (but not required):

• Experience with Firebase (Auth, Hosting) or Google Analytics
• Building SaaS platforms and multi-tenant architectures
• Background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or scaling startups
