Job summary

Atlas Search invites an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our Salt Lake City team. You will build features across the stack using React on the front end and Ruby on Rails on the back end, with occasional Python exposure.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join its growing engineering organization. This individual will work across the full software development lifecycle, building new features, enhancing existing applications, and improving the reliability and scalability of enterprise-grade platforms.

You’ll work primarily with React and Ruby on Rails (open to seeing a Python background as well), partnering closely with Product Management and fellow engineers on requirements, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on development while contributing to architectural decisions and mentoring other members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance full-stack web applications using React on the front end and Ruby on Rails on the back end.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions, evaluating scalability, maintainability, performance, and engineering trade-offs.
• Partner closely with Product Management and engineering stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements through delivery.
• Participate in peer code reviews, automated testing, defect resolution, and other SDLC processes to maintain high standards for code quality.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while actively contributing to Agile/Kanban ceremonies and team collaboration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS or cloud-based applications, including significant full-stack development experience.
• 4+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience or 5+ years of Python development experience, along with a strong understanding of backend application design.
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with React or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks and a strong understanding of front-end development practices.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as RSpec, Cucumber, or similar, plus a solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and application architecture.
• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and other cloud technologies, combined with strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; prior technical leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
