Job summary

Morpheus Talent Solutions in New York seeks a seasoned full-stack engineer to build a scalable platform that captures expert knowledge and turns it into autonomous business operations. You will work directly with founders and a growing engineering team.

Job description

You will build the platform that makes the engine that captures and codifies human expertise - the way people think, act and make decisions - and turns it into a working operator that owns and runs real functions of a business, and eventually the business itself. Systems that work human-out-of-the-loop, with true autonomy.

Our technical vision: we are among the first to have taught systems how to think, act and decide the way experts do, autonomously. The data we capture, our proprietary action models, and how that data is operationalized are the direction we will continue to build in and excel at.

You will be one of our first ten employees, working directly with the founder, our engineering lead, and a quickly growing engineering team. You will work on a platform whose architecture and methods have broken barriers that stood across legacy sectors for decades - and alongside an ML team building proprietary action models and significantly more.

What you will do

• Build and ship features across the platform end to end - designing the data models, APIs, informatics and services the platform runs on, built to scale.
• Own key technical and architectural decisions, and the maintainability and long-term impact that come with them.
• Work with our ML team to bring proprietary action models to market.
• Build AI-natively.
• Hold the bar on performance, security and quality as the platform and team grow fast.
• Support building and managing the engineering department as it grows, and play a key role in the evolution of platform and a product.

The technical environment

• Real-time, full-stack TypeScript - real-time backend, durable workflow engine, React frontend, one repo
• 200+ integrations into customer ERP, TMS, WMS, CRM, telematics, ticketing, procurement and finance systems
• AI agents in production - LLM and voice-powered operators, daily evaluations, cost, rate and approval guardrails
• Core stack: TypeScript, Python, React, React Router, Tailwind, Convex, Inngest, Clerk, Sentry

Who you are

• You joined a high-growth startup early - ideally joined early with a company thats has scaled too Series B or C - and helped build it. You have seen what breaks when a product scales fast, and you want to be earlier this time.
• You have shipped production TypeScript across the full stack - as comfortable designing the data model and APIs as building a polished React UI on top of them.
• You have owned systems, not tickets. You have designed, shipped and run features that real users and real revenue depend on.
• You have made messy external systems reliable - legacy APIs, webhooks, OAuth, rate limits, and what happens when a third party fails at 2am.
• High agency and product sense. Given a loose problem, you design the right system and ship it - no spec, no waiting. When you see something broken, you fix it and bring the team the solution.
• You use AI to do your job. Fluent with modern LLM and agent tooling. This is a hard requirement and we screen for it.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering - including 3+ years shipping production TypeScript - as comfortable building a polished React UI as designing the data model and APIs behind it.
• 3+ years building and running cloud systems in production - on serverless platforms or a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, Vercel orsimilar). You understand async workflows, retries, idempotency, and what happens when a third-party API fails at 2am.
• Evidence of experience across the model stack - model training and fine- tuning, keeping models up and performing in production, and the construction of proprietary model architectures and systems. Not just calling hosted APIs.
