Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is recruiting a Full Stack Developer skilled in Python/Django and ReactJS to support the NIH/NLM's NCBI projects. You will build robust web apps, APIs, and data visualizations for millions of daily users, collaborating with scientists and DevOps engineers.

The role is full-time and onsite at NIH-NCBI in Bethesda, MD with remote work options. Strong front-end, back-end, and testing practices are expected, along with agile teamwork and security awareness.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of full-stack web development with Python, Django and ReactJS.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with relational databases and data migration.
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
• Experience with Git or SVN.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build robust, user-facing web applications in Python/Django.
• Develop, ship new functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization.
• Work as part of an agile product team to deliver an excellent user experience.
• Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code with automated tests.
