Full Stack Developer – Berlin, CT
ASSA ABLOY’s mission is to make secure access easier. As a Full Stack Developer on our internal design system team, you will own a versioned suite of React components, Tailwind configurations, and headless primitives published as NPM packages, used across the organization. You will design clean, strongly‑typed component APIs, build high‑quality product interfaces in React, and contribute to our Laravel backend when needed.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop reusable React components that consume a shared design‑system.
- Write clean, type‑safe JavaScript/TypeScript code using strict mode, generics, and discriminated unions.
- Build and optimize marketing and landing pages driven by CMS content.
- Consume and extend Laravel APIs while occasionally building new endpoints.
- Participate in architectural decisions, mentor peers, and influence engineering practices.
- Publish and manage versioned packages in a monorepo using tools like Turborepo or Yarn workspaces.
- Implement client‑side data fetching, routing, and form handling with caching and validation.
- Integrate third‑party digital tools and APIs securely, handling script loading and consent.
- Write unit, component, and end‑to‑end tests; decide test coverage and use CI/CD pipelines.
- Measure and improve web performance (Core Web Vitals), SEO, and structured data.
- Apply accessibility best practices: semantic HTML, WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation, and screen‑reader testing.
- Engage in DevOps practices, including cloud deployment, automated pipelines, Docker, and monitoring.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; high school diploma or GED acceptable.
- 5+ years of professional full‑stack development with a strong front‑end focus.
- Proficient in React.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript.
- Solid grounding in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with PHP (Laravel) and relational databases (SQL).
- Experience building RESTful APIs with Node.js.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, cloud platforms, and performance best practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to review code in an asynchronous environment.
- Preferred: experience with Adobe Experience Manager, MarTech tooling (GTM, GA4), Docker, serverless concepts, observability tools (Sentry, APM).
