Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking a Software Developer to join our development team in Jacksonville, FL. You will contribute to designing and developing applications, owning specific components and features, with emphasis on Java/Spring Boot backend and React frontend capabilities.

The role involves implementing features, creating RESTful APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions while maintaining code quality and engaging in code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java language, ecosystem, and best practices.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
• Backend development using Java, Spring, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of RESTful services, microservices, and database management.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• AI & ML fundamentals: NLP, ML concepts, and how LLMs work.
• Prompt frameworks: zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought, and knowledge-generation prompting.
• LLM API experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.
• Prompt optimization to reduce hallucinations and improve accuracy.
• Data preparation for training or fine-tuning models.
• Performance analysis through A/B testing and iterative refinement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java and Spring Boot for backend services and React for frontend development
• Implement new features and enhancements with moderate guidance
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and team standards
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with React frontends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in backend and frontend systems
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality
• Contribute to database design and development using SQL and PostgreSQL
• Stay current with relevant technologies and frameworks
• Provide occasional guidance to junior developers
