Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years frontend web app experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
  • 5+ years backend experience with Python and Go.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs and real-time data interfaces.
  • Experience with distributed or microservice architectures.
  • Experience with relational or time-series databases.
  • Experience Linux-based development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Build intuitive, high-performance front-end interfaces for telemetry visualization and control.
  • Translate real-time workflows into reliable user experiences with React/TypeScript.
  • Develop backend services in Python and Go and expose APIs for the front end.

About the Opportunity:
  • As a Full Stack Developer III on client Aerospace's Launch Vehicle Ground Software team, you will develop the software systems used to test, monitor, control, and operate our launch vehicles from early benchtop hardware integration through full-scale launch site operations.

What You'll Do:
  • You will build intuitive, high-performance operator interfaces for real-time telemetry visualization, commanding, system health monitoring, test execution, and situational awareness.
  • You will work closely with engineers and operators to translate complex launch vehicle workflows and large volumes of real-time data into clear, reliable, and effective user experiences.
  • Design and develop complex, data-rich web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies.
  • Develop intuitive operator interfaces for telemetry visualization, commanding, system health monitoring, test execution, alarms, timelines, and real-time control.
  • Build reusable and maintainable front-end components capable of efficiently visualizing high-volume and rapidly changing engineering data.
  • Collaborate directly with launch vehicle engineers, test conductors, and operators to translate operational workflows and system requirements into effective software interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and Go.
  • Design and contribute to distributed microservice architectures supporting launch vehicle test and operations environments.
  • Develop software for data acquisition, processing, storage, and visualization across real-time and historical datasets.
  • Integrate applications with relational, time-series, and other data storage technologies.
  • Participate in system architecture, interface design, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement of software engineering practices.
  • Apply AI-assisted software development techniques, including specification-driven development and coding agents, to accelerate implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain reusable agent instructions, skills, workflows, or similar artifacts that allow AI development agents to effectively operate within client software repositories and engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with flight software, avionics, electrical, instrumentation, test, and launch operations teams to develop reliable end-to‑end ground systems.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing complex front-end web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing interactive, data-dense applications involving real‑time visualization, dashboards, controls, or complex operator workflows.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing backend applications or services using Python and Go.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing or developing RESTful APIs, WebSockets, streaming interfaces, or other mechanisms for integrating front‑end and backend systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing software using distributed or microservice-based architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience working with relational, time‑series, or other production database technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing, deploying, testing, and troubleshooting software in Linux‑based environments.

  • Good understanding of modern front-end architecture, component design, state management, performance optimization, and automated testing.
  • Good understanding of software design principles, networking, APIs, concurrency, and asynchronous systems.

  • Experience developing data acquisition and real‑time control systems.
  • Experience with messaging and event‑streaming technologies such as NATS, Apache Pulsar, Kafka, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with real‑time visualization technologies, charting libraries, WebSockets, streaming APIs, or high‑rate telemetry displays.
  • Experience with containerized application development and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with specification-driven or AI‑assisted software development methodologies.
  • Experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar development tools as part of professional software engineering workflows.
  • Experience developing reusable AI agent skills, instructions, tools, hooks, or workflows that encode repository-specific engineering practices.
  • Experience using AI agents for software implementation, testing, code review, documentation, debugging, or requirements traceability.
  • Experience developing software for launch vehicles, spacecraft, aerospace test systems, mission control systems, or other safety‑or‑mission‑critical environments.
  • Familiarity with launch vehicle test operations, hardware‑in‑the‑loop environments, or launch site operations.
