Odoo is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our Research & Development team at our Belgium office. You will work on a great Open Source project, with emphasis on Python and JavaScript, and contribute to both backend and frontend features.

You will join an experienced team, have training and onboarding, and the chance to impact millions of users by contributing to the community edition. This role offers long-term CDI with a collaborative, open culture.

Training & Onboarding

• Start with 2 weeks of functional training followed by 2 weeks of technical training to discover Odoo and the tech stack.
• Join one of our ~20 technical teams covering areas such as eCommerce, Accounting, JavaScript, Bugfix, Tech Support, etc.
• Improve the product and take ownership of your work as if you were an employee, collaborating with experienced developers on real projects.
• Contribute directly to the community edition of Odoo, which is used by millions worldwide.

Tech Stack

• Programming languages: Python & JavaScript

• Development model: 80% open-source and 20% enterprise code
• Frameworks: ORM, JavaScript framework (OWL), Templating Engine (QWeb), Spreadsheets, and other Odoo-made tools.

Areas of Work

• Business apps: Point of Sales, Inventory, Accounting, and continuous improvement.
• Client framework: OWL, a modern JavaScript framework.
• Server framework: PostgreSQL-based ORM for server-side development.
• Website builder: a no-code open source alternative to Shopify, Wix, or WordPress.
• API connectors: integration with payment gateways, delivery providers, ChatGPT, etc.
• Odoo.sh: a cloud platform for deploying, managing, and scaling Odoo instances.
• Customer-oriented services: Bug fixing, technical support, and technical consultancy.
• Security: code reviews, security patches, pentesting, best practices.
• Database management: SQL and Python scripts to migrate customer data from older to latest Odoo versions.
