Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is hiring a Full-Time Full Service Technician to recondition, reassemble, and test polemount transformers. You will follow work orders, gather parts, and ensure quality before delivery in a safety‑critical environment.

The role requires mechanical/transformer experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with emphasis on teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety policies. Onsite work with potential crane use is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specs.
• Gather parts/tools and ensure they are in good working condition.
• Recondition and reassemble polemount transformers and replace components as needed.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing before shipment.
• Use shop equipment safely and return items to proper location.
• Operate or assist with overhead crane and material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Fulfill other assigned duties as needed.

Brief Description

The Full Service Technician is responsible for reconditioning, reassembly, and testing of polemount transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Read and follow work order instructions to ensure your rebuilding transformers to customer specifications.
• Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
• Reconditioning and reassembly polemount transformers will include but is not limited to cleaning and inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing the oil and basic repairs.
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation.
• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.
• Usage of overhead crane and other material handling equipment may be needed to perform job tasks.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
• Adheres to the company’s employee handbook policies and embodies the organization’s core values.
• Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
• Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
• Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
• Standing and walking for long durations
• Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
• The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
• Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled.
