Position Summary

The University of Dayton is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team as a Full Service Operations Supervisor within our dining halls! As a Full Service Operations Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, ensure seamless service, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager of Operations, you will supervise up to 30 bargaining unit employees, 10 part-time staff, and over 100 student employees. Responsibilities include managing equipment and food preparation processes, maintaining quality, service and sanitation standards, supervising staff, supporting departmental objectives, and maintaining security.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Managerial ServSafe certification (or within one year of hire).
  • Two years supervisory experience in food service or three years of successful work in a restaurant or university food service.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and administrative abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and institutional kitchen equipment.
  • Proficiency with internet and Microsoft Office.
  • Math skills for portioning and production planning.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, differentiate colors, exert mobility, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in wet, cold, and hot conditions typical of kitchen environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cbord and high-volume food production equipment.
  • Experience in a union environment.
  • Associate degree in culinary, business, or hospitality management.
  • Knowledge of cash register operations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Adaptability, decisiveness, professionalism, and experience working with diverse staff and students.
Additional Information

This is a full-time, 10-month position (August-May) with benefits, located at Kennedy Union or Virginia Kettering, with specific shift hours. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship. Please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum and preferred qualification.
