Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC in the United States is seeking a Trainee-DOT to join our team. This role focuses on learning all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver, operating the delivery vehicle safely, servicing accounts along a designated route, and merchandising products according to PBV standards while adhering to DOT regulations.

The Trainee-DOT will perform pre/post-trip inspections, unload products, stock shelves, secure signatures, and communicate with store personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of commercial driving experience with a CDL preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Must pass a DOT physical before first day.
• Must obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if CDL not held.
• Positive attitude and detail oriented.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must meet PBV driving qualifications.
• Must be able to work hours needed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre/post-trip inspection on truck per DOT requirements.
• Safely drives a truck with a gross vehicle weight of 26,000+ pounds.
• Safely unloads product and checks in deliveries.
• Stocks shelves and displays with proper rotation.
• Removes damaged items and ensures proper credit.
• Obtains signatures, stamps, and invoices for end-of-day settlement.
• Communicates issues to store personnel and management.
• Follows DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Trainee-DOT Role Overview

The Trainee DOT is primarily responsible for learning all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, including the safe and efficient operation of the delivery vehicle. The Trainee DOT will service accounts (Bulk, Small Format, On‑Premise, and Dollar General) along a designated route efficiently and effectively by delivering, unloading, and merchandising products in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards, adhering to all company, state, and federal safety and driving regulations.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Conducts pre/post‑trip inspection on truck according to DOT requirements and promptly reports problems to the fleet department.
• Safely drives and maneuvers a truck having a gross vehicle weight of under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Safely unloads product, ensuring proper check‑in procedures.
• Stocks shelves, racks, coolers, and displays, ensuring proper rotation.
• Breaks down boxes and removes flats, damages, and empty cases to ensure proper credit is given.
• Obtains required signatures, store stamps, and invoices to ensure proper settlement at the end of the day.
• Communicates issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
• Follows all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero (0) to two (2) years of commercial driving experience with a CDL is preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if CDL is not currently held.
• Positive attitude and must be detail oriented.
• Perform basic financial calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
• Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
