Job summary

The Trainee-DOT at Pepsi Bottling Ventures will learn all facets of a route delivery driver role, including safe operation of the delivery vehicle and servicing accounts along a designated route. You will deliver, unload, and merchandise products while upholding PBV and customer standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
0–2 years of commercial driving experience with CDL preferred.
Class A CDL required.
Must pass a DOT physical before first day.
Ability to obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if not held.
Positive attitude with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT requirements.
Safely drive and maneuver a truck with CDL.
Unload product and complete check-in procedures.
Stock shelves, racks, coolers, and displays with proper rotation.
Break down boxes and dispose of damaged goods for credits.
Obtain signatures and invoices to settle daily sales.
Adhere to all DOT and FMCSA regulations.

Trainee‑DOT Role Overview

The Trainee DOT is primarily responsible for learning all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, including the safe and efficient operation of the delivery vehicle. The Trainee DOT will service accounts (Bulk, Small Format, On‑Premise, and Dollar General) along a designated route efficiently and effectively by delivering, unloading, and merchandising products in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards, adhering to all company, state, and federal safety and driving regulations.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

Conducts pre/post-trip inspection on truck according to DOT requirements and promptly reports problems to the fleet department.
Safely drives and maneuvers a truck having a gross vehicle weight of under or over 26,000 pounds.
Safely unloads product, ensuring proper check‑in procedures.
Stocks shelves, racks, coolers, and displays, ensuring proper rotation.
Breaks down boxes and removes flats, damages, and empty cases to ensure proper credit is given.
Obtains required signatures, store stamps, and invoices to ensure proper settlement at the end of the day.
Communicates issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
Follows all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Zero (0) to two (2) years of commercial driving experience with a CDL is preferred.
Class A CDL required.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
Must be able to obtain a CDL permit within 45 business days if CDL is not currently held.
Positive attitude and must be detail oriented.
Perform basic financial calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
