Job summary

Spymca is hiring a 4 Year Old Kindergarten Assistant in Stevens Point, WI. You will assist the teacher, help implement the curriculum, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for children aged 3 to 5.

Responsibilities include supervising meals and activities, guiding behavior with positive methods, and collaborating with families and school staff to meet licensing standards. CPR/First Aid certification is required, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is needed.

Qualifications

• CPR w/AED and First Aid certification is required at time of hire.
• Experience working with children ages 2.5–5 and their families is preferred.
• Ability to meet licensing rules and work collaboratively with the YMCA and school district.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy 4-Year-Old Kindergarten environment, including snack preparation and room sanitation.
• Provide positive guidance, communicate with children at their developmental level, and encourage independence.
• Develop positive relationships with children and their families.
• Directly interact with children for most of class time.
• Uphold YMCA mission and quality programming standards.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and in-services.
• Follow State Licensing Regulations and YMCA standards.
