Job summary

Pumpkin Patch Preschool in Stoughton, WI seeks an assistant teacher for a 4K classroom and wrap-around care (30 hours/week) for the 2025-2026 year. You will support a lead teacher and help deliver developmentally appropriate activities for ages 4-5, with daily collaboration among staff and families.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, Wisconsin licensing adherence, background check, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with potential for school-year, summer, or year-round

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Meet Wisconsin licensing requirements for early childhood professionals.
• Submit to and pass a full background check.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Complete required Child Care classes or commit to completing within 6 months.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass health screening.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher with a developmentally-appropriate curriculum for ages 4-5.
• Use positive reinforcement, redirection, and self-discipline techniques.
• Assist with rotating classroom supplies and decor.
• Keep the classroom clean and organized per lead teacher directions.
• Respond respectfully to parent questions and concerns; communicate with families.
• Maintain open lines of communication with PPP staff and families.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and school-wide events.
• Assist with accident logs, attendance, sanitation, and safety drills.
• Collaborate with PPP staff to efficiently use shared spaces and resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and be able to stand, crouch, kneel, and sit on the floor.
