Job summary

The Laborers Funds Administrative Office of Northern California, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage full charge bookkeeping on an accrual basis. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, bank activity, and preparation of financial statements for multiple Funds.

The role requires GAAP knowledge, GL/AP experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. This on-site position in Pleasanton offers health benefits and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate’s degree in accounting, business administration or a minimum of five years’ related experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
• Knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable concepts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and complete general ledger accounts.
• Balance and reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements for the Funds.
• Coordinate full cycle accounts payable process for all vendors.
• Ensure invoices have supporting documentation and GAAP adherence.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Support audits with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
