Responsibilities

MCM is seeking a Bookkeeper professional to join our dynamic and growing team. This role will support the Yacht Management Division, the Accounting Department and the Principal in meeting the high standards and level of service MCM is known for.

Job Summary:

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company and its managed yachts. This role performs a variety of bookkeeping, accounting, reporting, and administrative functions to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and efficient management of client funds.

The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Yacht Accounting & Financial Management
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, financial reports, and annual budgets for assigned yachts.
  • Prepare and send monthly fund requests to yacht owners and clients.
  • Monitor and manage assigned yacht bank accounts to ensure adequate funding for ongoing operations.
  • Review invoices daily within the Voly yacht accounting system.
  • Assist with:
    • Vendor setup and verification of banking information.
    • Entry and maintenance of supplier banking details within Voly and related banking platforms.
    • Processing supplier payments via wire transfer and ACH.
    • Invoice entry and coding.
    • Bank account reconciliations.
  • Develop an understanding of international and domestic banking requirements, including:
    • IBAN
    • SWIFT codes
    • Routing numbers
    • Account numbers
Client & Crew Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for accounting-related inquiries from clients and yacht personnel.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal departments to resolve payment discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
  • Respond to client requests and special accounting-related projects.
  • Track supplier refunds and ensure funds are properly received and allocated to the appropriate company or client accounts.
  • Manage a high volume of email communication and provide timely, professional responses.
  • Assist yacht crew with Voly system inquiries and coordinate with Voly support when necessary to resolve issues.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Perform filing, recordkeeping, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Support accounting team projects and departmental initiatives.
Company Accounting Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment of approved vendor invoices.
  • Prepare and issue monthly client invoices for management fees and reimbursable expenses.
  • Track accounts receivable and follow up as needed.
Reconciliations & Expense Allocations
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of:
    • Company bank accounts.
    • Client bank accounts.
    • Voly accounting records.
    • QuickBooks accounting records.
  • Reconcile accounts maintained in multiple currencies.
  • Review and reconcile company credit card statements, ensuring proper coding and allocation of expenses to clients.
  • Review employee travel expenses and supporting receipts.
  • Reconcile monthly telephone and communication expenses and allocate costs appropriately.
  • Reconcile bank fees associated with client accounts and ensure accurate client billing and accounting entries.
Training & Development

Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure proficiency in:

  • QuickBooks
  • Voly Yacht Accounting System
  • Banking platforms and procedures
  • Company accounting policies and workflows

The training program will provide exposure to the full range of accounting department functions. While not all tasks are performed daily, candidates will be expected to develop a strong working knowledge of all core processes.

Qualifications & Skills:
