Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Bilingual preferred: Spanish and English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with multiple variables in undefined situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all transportation and distribution functions including drivers, dispatchers, loading dock, and equipment.
• Responsible for the profitability of the Distribution department.
• Develop systems to ensure on time, complete and correct delivery to internal and external customers.
• Interface with internal and external customers, driver team, sales team, customer service, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and other regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate for equipment and outside services.
• Measure and monitor transportation productivity and implement improvements.
• Train and develop an outstanding driver team.
• Maintain safety programs for the distribution department and ensure safe work practices.
• Aggressively manage all departmental costs.
