Job summary

Chewy is seeking an Operations Manager for our Reno fulfillment center. This hands-on leader will work in a start-up style environment, building relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, and cross-functional teams to drive improvements daily.

The role requires 5+ years in fulfillment/warehouse management, strong project management, and a passion for data-driven outcomes. Weekend flexibility and travel may be needed; compensation reflects hourly pay in a dynamic FC setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or comparable experience.
• 5+ years in fulfillment/warehouse management.
• At least 4 years in Receiving, Inventory Control, or Order Fulfillment.
• At least 4 years of leading large groups of hourly employees.
• Experience with inventory, order, and warehouse management systems.
• Comfort with start-up style ambiguity and change.
• Strong project management and continuous improvement skills.
• Metrics-driven mindset for performance.
• Customer service oriented with high standards.
• Effective communicator and leader across teams and leadership.
• Ability to drive results using data.
• High integrity and ethics.
• Must be flexible to work weekends.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead inbound/outbound activities for the FC across two shifts.
• Ensure a healthy and safe work environment for outbound associates.
• Direct supervisory personnel to meet objectives and maintain on-time shipments and low defects.
• Monitor KPIs such as misses, on-time shipments, defects, aged tasks, and cost per order line.
• Engage Area Managers and Operations Leads in planning and improvement.
• Drive planning and forecasting for the operation.
• Mentor and develop Area Managers for career progression.
• Develop and share standard processes across shifts and network.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that guides and motivates change; adapt to dynamic business.
