Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Fulfillment Buyer for a temporary 3-month assignment. The role involves processing purchase requests, issuing POs, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and payment.

The position supports multiple commodities and internal customers across facilities nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in supply chain/production/engineering, purchasing experience in indirect buying, strong analytics, and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requests and issue purchase orders in a timely manner without error.
• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers.
• Review quotes to ensure they are complete and align with SpaceX terms.
• Resolve invoice issues and ensure vendors are paid on time.
• Expedite parts/services as necessary.
• Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers.
• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives.
• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce order processing time and cost.

FULFILLMENT BUYER - TEMPORARY

This role will support purchases across multiple commodities, stakeholders (capital projects, facility management, production, etc.), and nationwide facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review purchase requests and issue purchase orders in a timely manner without error
• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers
• Review quotes to ensure those are complete and align with SpaceX terms
• Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time
• Expedite parts/services as necessary
• Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers
• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives
• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement process improvement initiatives in order to reduce order processing time and cost

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

• LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion based on performance and business need)
• LOCATION: Hawthorne, CA
• SHIFT: 1st shift (start times may vary)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree; or 4+ years of professional experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function in lieu of a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Purchasing experience, specifically related to indirect buying
• Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
• Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
• Familiarity with data analysis tools including Microsoft SQL and PowerBI

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
• This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Fulfillment Buyer: $27.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for potential discretionary bonuses.
