Actalent is seeking a Fulfillment Associate in Phoenix, AZ, to provide professional customer service and accurate processing of orders. The role includes picking, packing, stocking, and inventory control within a fast-paced fulfillment center.

The position is contract to hire, with a daytime schedule (Mon–Fri, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). The employee will support Lean/5S practices and ensure FIFO compliance across departments, clinics, and labs.

Job Title: Fulfillment Associate Job Description

The Fulfillment Associate provides professional, friendly, and high-quality customer service while ensuring accurate and timely processing of all department and client supply orders. This role is responsible for picking, packing, confirming, and delivering orders, as well as stocking, record keeping, and distribution of materials. The Fulfillment Associate supports inventory management, participates in audits and full physical inventory counts, and contributes to a culture of service and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, respectful, and friendly customer service to internal department customers regarding stock and nonstock orders, emergency requests, order status, backorders, returns, and general supply-related support.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers to support a positive supply chain brand and a strong culture of service.
• Perform inventory counts in department point-of-use locations and in fulfillment center inventories using information systems and/or automated systems.
• Generate pick lists, pick orders, and restock inventories based on established procedures and system data.
• Pick, pack, confirm, and prepare client supply orders for delivery through the logistics team or third-party carriers.
• Receive inbound inventory, accurately put away materials, and ensure items are stored in proper locations according to established standards.
• Comply with First-In-First-Out (FIFO) replenishment standards to maintain proper product rotation and reduce waste.
• Conduct audits on assigned inventories to identify stockouts, expired inventory, FIFO inaccuracies, and damaged products.
• Collaborate with senior team members to resolve inventory discrepancies, product issues, and process errors.
• Deliver stock and nonstock supplies to all onsite departments within an assigned delivery route in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate any order discrepancies or delivery issues to customers using established communication methods and provide prompt feedback.
• Actively support Lean initiatives by participating as a contributing team member in Lean projects.
• Perform assigned 5S duties at regular intervals to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.
• Execute detailed full physical inventory counts during scheduled periods using established processes and information systems.
• Maintain accurate records related to inventory, orders, deliveries, and stock movements in alignment with departmental procedures.
• Print and apply labels accurately to boxes, carts, and inventory as required for tracking and shipping.
• Handle materials in accordance with hazardous materials requirements and applicable regulations, once certified.
• Support compliance with relevant FDA regulations and internal quality standards related to healthcare, clinic, laboratory, and phlebotomy supplies.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of previous experience in customer service and/or warehouse operations.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with a diverse internal team and external customer base.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, respectful, and professional customer service.
• High attention to detail in picking, packing, labeling, and inventory record keeping.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced fulfillment center environment.
• Hazardous Materials certification obtained upon employment or within six (6) months of hire.
• Ability to perform inventory counts and follow FIFO replenishment standards.
• Capability to walk the floor, push carts, and perform the physical aspects of fulfillment, stocking, and delivery activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or higher level of education is preferred.
• One year of previous supply management experience within healthcare, clinical, or diagnostic laboratory industry is preferred.
• One year of experience in a direct customer-facing role is preferred.
• Basic skill level in MS Excel, including the ability to enter, update, and review data.
• Experience printing and applying labels for inventory and shipments.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations related to healthcare, clinical, laboratory, or phlebotomy supplies.
• Knowledge of healthcare, clinic, laboratory, and phlebotomy supplies and their handling requirements.
• Experience using Workday or similar enterprise resource planning or HR systems is beneficial.
• Comfort working within Lean and 5S environments, with an interest in continuous improvement.
• Interest in career growth opportunities such as progressing to a departmental lead role or transferring to other departments in the future.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fulfillment center environment where associates regularly walk the floor with a pick ticket, fill carts with required items, box orders, and prepare shipments. The work involves standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the shift. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime work pattern. The environment emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and safety, supported by Lean and 5S practices. Team members work with healthcare, clinic, lab, and phlebotomy supplies, follow FIFO standards, and use basic technology tools such as MS Excel and labeling equipment. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
