Job summary

Tenneco in Indiana is seeking a Machine Setup & Operator for 2nd/3rd shift to support a high‑volume manufacturing environment. You will set up and adjust tooling on Fuji machines, train operators, and ensure strict adherence to production and quality specifications while maintaining safe operations.

The role requires mechanical/electronic skills, SPC knowledge, and the ability to work across teams with strong problem‑solving abilities; welding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required and supports mechanical aptitude.
• Experience or ability to set up and adjust tooling on production machines.
• Strong mechanical and electronic skills with attention to safety.
• Knowledge of SPC, quality inspection, and reading calipers/gauges.
• Good communication and teamwork across shifts and departments.
• Welding background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, trouble‑shoot problems, change and adjust tooling on Fuji machines to meet specifications and quality standards and assure safe operations.
• Train other employees to operate Fuji machines correctly and safely.
• Perform as a team member of a cellular operating group and assist others as needed.
• Identify problems and apply effective problem‑solving skills and mechanical action.
• Utilize Lean principles, Quick Change Technology, TPM and Material Flow to improve plant efficiency.
• Overtime as required.
