Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to join our team across Virginia job sites. This full-time, year-round role requires operating heavy equipment fuel delivery and supporting site operations from 6:00 AM with potential overtime and weekend work.

You must hold a Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, maintain a clean driving record, pass DOT medical and drug screening, and be able to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
• Manual transmission preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in last 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.

Responsibilities

• DOT rules, regulations, and guidelines knowledge.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs.
• Safely operate the commercial vehicle in various sites across Virginia.
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
• Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings.
• Fluid top-offs as needed.
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to high cleanliness.
• Ensure health and safety policies are met.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers.

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Fuel Truck Driver.

Qualifications:

• Class B CDL

• Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements

• Manual Transmission, preferred

• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)

• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening

• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis

• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines

• Complete daily pre- & post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports

• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs

• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia

• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel

• Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings

• Fluid top-offs as need

• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness

• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met

• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Location: Various Jobsites

Working Hours: Start time is 6:00 AM. Overtime and weekends may be required.

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
