Job summary

Prairie Farms Dairy in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Fuel Technician to inspect and maintain fuel storage and dispensing equipment. You will ensure pumps, tanks, and related systems operate safely and meet environmental rules, while handling work orders, checklists, and service reports.

The role requires 6am–2pm hours, a $22.00/hour pay, and a focus on safe, clean work practices in a refrigerated environment. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, Life Insurance, and more.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a Chauffeurs License.
  • Must pass a physical and lift test.

Responsibilities

  • Pull the trailer around to fuel trailers and straight truck reefers.
  • Check dates on PM and DOTs and report due items to the shop.
  • Check the display for codes on running units and report them to the shop.
  • Take the shop vehicles to the fuel station and fuel them.
  • Communicate any trailer issues to the manager on duty.
  • Maintain required paperwork.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $22.00 Annually

Reports To: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Battle Creek, MI

Pay: $22.00/hour

Hours: 6am - 2pm

Position Overview

The Fuel Technician will inspect and maintain fuel storage, distribution, and dispensing equipment. Ensure systems like gas station pumps, industrial tanks operate safely and meet environmental rules. Maintain paperwork involving work orders, compliance checklists, and service reports. Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pulling the trailer around to fuel trailers and straight truck reefers.
  • Checking dates on PM and DOTs. Reporting ones that are due to the shop.
  • Checking the display for codes on running units and reporting them to the shop.
  • Taking the shop vehicles to the fuel station and fueling them.
  • Communicating any issues regarding the trailer to the manager on duty.
  • Maintaining paperwork.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • The applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a Chauffeurs License
  • Must take and pass a physical and lift test.

Working Conditions
  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment for extended periods up to an entire shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend, sit, and move throughout the shift.
  • May be required to wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in designated areas.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
  • The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet / humid / cold conditions (non-weather).
  • The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime, as needed.
