Job summary

Bristol Bay Industrial in Alaska is seeking a station attendant to provide fuel and lubricants to customers via dock or truck rack while upholding safety and quality standards. The role requires basic math, ability to read and follow procedures, and a valid Alaska Class B CDL with X endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service including dock fueling operations and sale of packaged lubricants.
  • Performs daily facility and equipment inspections and opens/closes tank valves.
  • Assists with bulk fuel transfer operations and performs Fuel Quality Control functions.
  • Participates in safety meetings and reports injuries, spills and property damage.
  • Keeps facilities clean and maintains professional appearance.

General Description:


This position is responsible for providing fuel and lubricants to customers via dock or truck rack.


Essential Duties & Job Functions:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Provides customer service to include truck rack and dock fueling operations and sale of packaged lubricants.

  • Performs daily facility and equipment inspections, opens and closes tank valves, performs general maintenance. Stocks and transfers lubricants

  • Assists w/ bulk fuel transfer operations. Performs Fuel Quality Control functions.

  • Assists with performing facility oil spill response drills and Work flexible schedule to include weekends and nights as needed.

  • Clean as needed to maintain a professional appearance at the facility.

  • Participates in safety meetings and reports all injuries, spills and property damage. Identifies and communicates job hazards.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • An individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word and MAS Accounting Software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

  • MOBILITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses computers on a daily basis. Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently and up to 75 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • HEARING: The employee frequently is required to talk or hear while answering phones, working with customers, clients, supervisors, etc.

  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner. Ability to see and complete work on a personal computer and read color coded writing on equipment forms, etc.
