Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Escondido, California is hiring a Fueler Service Technician to support fueling, vehicle detailing and basic maintenance. You will perform inspections, manage fuel and DEF inventories, and assist in keeping equipment clean and safe for daily operations.

The role requires good English communication, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work flexible shifts and at different locations. CDL A is preferred and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of related work experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills; must understand customer's verbal communication.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Understanding of computer hardware and software; basic data entry.
• High degree of thoroughness and dependability.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays.
• Work at different locations.
• Create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Work independently and as a member of a team.
• Self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized with excellent time management.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• DOT Safety Regulated Position
• Safety Sensitive Position.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check (last 3 years)

Responsibilities

• Fuel, wash and detail vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspection on inbound units as required by policies; check tire pressure, oil; report issues.
• Record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation.
• Move heavy duty vehicles.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies; perform facility maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
