Job summary

Cary Oil is seeking an Operations Specialist to coordinate the procurement, pricing, and delivery of fuel and fuel products to business and industrial customers. You will work with carriers, internal teams, and customers to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately, priced competitively, and delivered on time.

Key duties include processing orders, quoting pricing and delivery times, selecting carriers, and resolving delivery issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a petroleum support, wholesale fuels, or marketing environment preferred.
• Experience working with carriers, order fulfillment, and customer-facing pricing helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receives customer orders for fuel and fuel products by telephone or email and coordinates procurement and delivery to business and industrial locations.
• Quotes pricing, terms, and delivery times to existing customers for delivery of product to their locations.
• Communicates confirmed orders to carriers for shipment.
• Determines the appropriate carrier for order fulfillment based on knowledge of carrier rates, availability, reliability, and dependability.
• Resolves service and rate disputes between carriers and the company, or between carriers and company customers.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Works with outside sales staff to keep account activities and literature up to date
