Job summary

Menzies Aviation Anchorage is seeking a Fuel Farm Operator to sample and test products for quality control and perform maintenance on facilities and fueling vehicles. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to procedures in an outdoor environment.

You will handle fuel transfers, perform inspections, log transactions, and support routine maintenance and compliance with standards. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and ability to perform basic math.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain airport badges/seals.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Work is primarily outdoors and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and dispatches jet fuel and other fuels as needed.
  • Samples and tests products for quality control and performs basic maintenance on facilities and fuel systems.
  • Supports maintenance and records logs for fuel transactions and equipment checks.
  • Conducts routine inspections to comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitors storage tanks and pipelines to prevent spills and contamination.
  • Ensures safety policies are followed and attends to required log entries.

Role Purpose

The role of the Fuel Farm Operator is to be responsible for sampling
and testing products for quality control, and performing inspections and basic maintenance on facilities,
fuel systems and fueling vehicles.

What you will be doing:

  • Receives/dispatches jet fuel, gasoline, diesel fuel, avgas and glycol via pipelines and trucks.
  • Samples and tests products for quality control and performance inspections and basic maintenance on
    facilities, fuel systems and fueling vehicles.
  • Supports Quality Control Technicians with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical reports and
    preventative maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities/systems including related equipment
    on fueling vehicles.
  • Performs routine and periodic inspections in compliance with company, customer, government and
    industry standards
  • Transfers product and monitors storage tanks, pipelines and related equipment to ensure that they are
    in good working order to prevent spills, releases, overfills and product contamination
  • Conducts all work in a safe fashion by adhering to all company, customer, industry, local, state and
    federal safe work policies/procedures
  • Makes required log entries of fuel transactions, quality control, and maintenance
  • Assures adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Can meet Company's Attendance and code of conduct standards

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience
    and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
    instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Driver's License. Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FFA Airport required
    identification/seals or authorizations. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airports and customs badges/seals.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays if required.
  • Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, work is
    primarily outdoors.
