Job summary

TerraPower LLC. based in Bellevue, WA, is recruiting for a Fuel Fabrication Manager to lead Natrium fuel design and supply activities, oversee fabrication facility construction, and ensure integration with design and supply partners.

The role focuses on metallization of HALEU feedstock and end-to-end fuel fabrication processes. Responsibilities include interfacing with design, neutronics, safety, and operations teams; coordinating with Quality; and managing a team to scale operations while

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Nuclear materials, metallurgy, or nuclear fuel cycle engineering preferred.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal direction on challenging problems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with high attention to detail.
• High integrity and teamwork, with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with testing and operations to progress manufacturing maturity in labs and pilot operations.
• Interface with reactor design, neutronics, thermal hydraulics, and safety teams to reflect material properties in fabrication.
• Own fuel component engineering from feedstock to final assemblies.
• Coordinate with Quality to meet fabrication deliverables.
• Serve as TerraPower point of contact for NRC/DOE interactions related to fuel fabrication.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team with career development focus.
• Develop staffing plans to support program scale-up and long-term continuity.
• Maintain visibility on production status and mitigate risks across the supply chain.
• Demonstrate expertise in metallic nuclear fuels and related qualification activities.
• Oversee vendors/contractors for nuclear-grade component fabrication and procurement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T, ASTM/ASME specs.
• Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry practices.
